Part of our series featuring women entrepreneurs and dynamic women's groups
Linnea Miller, who was named Batavia Citizen of the Year 2009, was an integral part of a group of unique and civic-minded women. Three weeks before she and her husband were to receive this citizenship award, she lost her life to breast cancer. The city lost a dedicated citizen and her group lost a dedicated friend.
“We didn't find out we had a name until after she died. Her husband called me to ask if I would give a eulogy. He left a voicemail with the request and then at the end of the message he "spilled the beans" … calling us the Power Bitches (But he made sure I knew he meant it lovingly). I included it in the eulogy. The crowd loved it! We wished we had known earlier so we could have had t-shirts made up!” PB member, Sue
If you have an interest in community preservation, planning or politics, you may know some of these self-proclaimed trouble-makers! PB members: Lisa, Jo, Sue and Kai (and Linnea, in spirit)
